Review: The Gregory Miwok pack

The main pocket of the pack is split by a divider. The pocket closest to your back doubles as a sleeve for a hydration bladder, with a separate side-zip access. We also used this pocket for our laptop while traveling. The other side of the divide offers enough room for a jacket, water bottle and a lunch or snacks. A smaller, zipper-access mesh pocket stowed our phone and car keys safely.

A second zip pocket contains small mesh sleeves, great for gadgets like a multi-tool or compass, with space for other odds and ends in the pocket itself.

Outside, the Miwok has hiking-pole straps and side mesh pockets for quick stashing without taking the pack off. On the back of it all is a stretchy pouch-the ideal place to store a jacket in on-again, off-again rain showers.

The back panel is a thin piece of foam with no stays, so it will max out and buckle with more than a light day-trip’s worth of weight, but for travel and on-trail hiking this is an ideal pack.
