Philip Edward Island won me a Gold Star at the National Magazine Awards

I won Gold at this year’s National Magazine Awards. That’s my third star from the National Magazine Awards so far – a lot more than I received from my grade four teacher. Sister Alexander was wrong when she told me my day dreaming in class would amount to nothing. It made me an award winning writer for the best Canadian outdoor magazine – Explore!
