Grey County is one of Ontario’s best places to hike. Thanks to the Niagara Escarpment, Grey County’s landscape is full of natural wonders, from geological potholes to trees growing right out of rock and towering gorges that will make you feel small. Grey County’s trails are perfect for practically anyone, from the adventurous to the quiet birder.

Skinner’s Bluff Trail

Length: 7.4 km

Time: 2 hours

This trail’s main draw is the array of different lookouts across Georgian Bay. With a rocky terrain underfoot and surrounded by towering trees, keep an eye out for delicate wildflowers and migrating songbirds.

Trailhead: Colpoy’s Range Road

Eugenia Falls and Hoggs Falls Loop via Bruce Trail

Length: 12.6 km

Time: 3 to 4 hours

If you’re chasing waterfalls, this trail is for you. Beginning at the highest falls in Grey County, you’ll also stop at the small but mighty Hoggs Falls. This trail takes you up and down hills and offers sweeping views of Beaver Valley.

Trailhead: Eugenia Falls Conservation Area parking lot

Kolapore Uplands Trail

Length: 9 km

Time: 2 hours

This trail has a lot to offer. There’s distinct vegetation, a waterfall, rock scrambling and a 30 metre gorge. Stop at the Ravenna General Store to purchase a map of the trails of Kolapore Uplands first, as you cannot go in without it.

Trailhead: Parking lot on Grey Road 2 south of Side Road 9. The trailhead is across the street.

Loree Forest Loop

Length: 5.3 km

Time: 1 hour

This easy loop trail takes you through forests and meadows. At the mid-point of the loop, the forest pulls away and you have a scenic view over Georgian Bay.

Trailhead: Side Road 21 just east of 6 Line

Pretty River Valley Loop

Length: 11.4 km

Time: 2 to 3 hours

This trail is full of enchantment, from its moss covered boulders to the abundance of wildflowers. This loop trail leads along a tranquil lake, past rock crevices and by one of the highest points of the Niagara Escarpment.

Trailhead: Access via 2 Line & Side Road 6

Osler Bluff Trail

Length: 8 km

Time: 2 hours

This trail takes you through dense forest, meadows and over rolling hills. The two main attractions of this trail are the incredible views and the highest point on the Bruce Trail.

Trailhead: Gibraltar Side Road and 2nd Line

Bognor Marsh Conservation Area Loop

Length: 5.1 km

Time: 1 hour

Bognor Marsh is one of Grey County’s largest marshes. Bird lovers will rejoice with its wealth of waterfowl and migratory birds. The loop trail also offers a boardwalk, observation tower and mix of wetlands and meadows.

Trailhead: 104277 Grey County Road 18

Indian Falls Conservation Area Trail

Length: 1 km

Time: 20 minutes

This short forested trail follows the Indian River. After a steep hill, you’ll find the 15-metre high horseshoe shaped Indian Falls. Please note this trail is closed in the winter.

Bruce and Pine Loop Trail

Length: 3.9 km

Time: 1 hour

The trail starts with the massive Inglis Falls with views over the deep gorge its created. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Owen Sound. The area is home to various fern species, a small lake and geological potholes.

Old Baldy Lookout Trail

Length: 4.3 km

Time: 1 to 1.5 hours

This four-season trail is rugged and takes you along steep cliffs. After ascending to the top of Beaver Valley, you’ll be wowed by the views.
