With the mountains only an hour-and-a-half drive away from this prairie city, Lethbridge and the surrounding area has a lot of hiking potential. Whether you decide to stay close to the city or take a drive in the direction of the mountains, there are lots of options!
Six Mile Coulee to Fort Whoop-Up
Length: 7.7 km
Elevation Gain: Minimal
Experience a little bit of prairie, rugged coulee and river on this ramble. It is a point-to-point trail, so if you plan to do the entire thing, consider parking a vehicle at both ends. Keep a map or trail app handy for this one, as the path isn’t clearly defined the entire way, and be prepared to do a little wading in the river.

You can choose to start either on the north or south trail and make it into a loop or ascend and descend on the same trail.
