Alpine Club of Canada leading Wapta Traverse camps

Alpine Club of Canada leading Wapta Traverse camps

In April, the Alpine Club of Canada will be leading two camps through the Wapta Traverse. Participants need not be expert mountaineers, but they should have good fitness levels and be able to ski blue/intermediate level runs in downhill skiing areas.

The Wapta Traverse is an ideal place to experience the Rockies. (We named it a destination of one of Canada’s classic ski trips.) The camps take participants across the Wapta and Waputik Icefields, offering breathtaking views, glacier runs and an overall excellent backcountry skiing experience.

The first camp runs April 7-14, and the second runs April 14-21. The cost is $1,695 + applicable taxes and includes: group gear, meals starting from dinner on Day 2 through lunch on Day 8 and accommodations. Transportation to Peyto Lake (the meeting place), personal gear and accommodation on Day 8 are not provided.
