Andy and I paddling for cancer in London and need partners

My regular canoemate, Andy Baxter, and I will be at the Paddle for Life event in London this coming Sunday – an art of paddling to celebrate cancer survivorship – and are missing a few partners. Speedo Man had to cancel and so did my wife and daughter. That means Andy and I have room for three more paddlers. We will be paddling from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and will rotate through.

Here’s the info and details on the event:

The Paddle for Life is a grass-roots fund raising event to celebrate cancer survivorship. Though the spirit of paddling in a recognized non-motorized watercraft such as a canoe, kayak, or paddleboat individuals and teams are invited to don their lifejackets and stroke their way around Fanshawe Lake from sunrise to sunset on June 7th, 2009. When not on the water, the celebration continues through the eyes of various artists including the internationally renowned painter, Philip Aziz who will be donating an original piece of art commissioned specifically for this event.

The two charities to benefit from this event will be Wellspring and Cottage Dreams Cancer Recovery Initiative Inc. because these two groups embody the principles of recovery and celebration of life after cancer.

Joining the celebration on June 7th will be Kevin Callan, author of The Happy Camper and 11 other books related to paddling and camping, as well as Nova Craft Canoe should you need assistance getting on the water.
