A hard hike deserves a quality beer. This long weekend, refresh with a post-activity beer brewed in Vancouver—the epicentre of BC’s craft beer revolution:

Red Racer ISA

Central City Brewers & Distillers

This light and fruity ale is just about perfect on a hot day—a flavourful blend of malts and mosaic hops, yet with only 4% alcohol, so you won’t need a nap after your mid-day pint. Available in 355 ml cans and draught.

Seedspitter Watermelon Wit

Parallel 49 Brewing

Available only during summer, this Belgian wit incorporates the season’s signature fruit—watermelon—into a crisp and refreshing patio-worthy brew. Available in 341 ml bottles and draught.

Citradelic Single Hop IPA

Big Rock Urban Brewery

This copper-hued West Coast-style IPA has notes of citrus and tropical fruit—ideal for hot August days. Though Big Rock is an Alberta-based company, this ale is BC-only, crafted in their new Vancouver-based Urban Brewery. Available in 650 ml bottles and draught.

Multiweisen 5-Grain Hefferveisen

Brassneck Brewery

We can’t guarantee Main Street’s popular Brassneck Brewery will have this summery, light and unfiltered wheat beer available when you stop by—taps rotate regularly. They should, however, have Brassneck Ale (a “no nonsense pale ale”) as a solid stand-in, though. Available in growlers and draught.

Randonneur Saison

Dageraad Brewing

A classic farmhouse ale from Burnaby-based Dageraad’s Single Batch Series, this peppery, hoppy and complex Saison is a worthy companion to your post-hike feast on a warm summer night. Available in 650 ml bottles and draught.

33 Acres of Sunshine

33 Acres Brewing

This refreshing white ale wakes up the senses with hits of orange peel, coriander and anise seed. Poured in a glass, the hazy, unfiltered brew sparkles in the sunshine for which it’s named. Available in 330 ml bottles, draught and growlers.

Red Truck Lager

Red Truck Beer Company

Did you think we forgot about the lagers? Known for being particularly refreshing after an athletic effort, Red Truck Lager is brewed from Canadian malted barley as well as hops from Germany and the Czech Republic. Available in 355 ml cans and draught.

Saison

Four Winds Brewing Company

This Belgian ale is an Old World meets New World effort—brewed with both aromatic Noble hops and Pacific Northwest Cascade hops, expect flowery, spicy flavours and a lot of summertime refreshment.

Pilsner

Bomber Brewing

Simple name, complex taste—Bomber Brewing imported Czech Saaz hops to give their award-winning floral-scented Pilsner a clean-drinking taste worthy of its title. Available in 355 ml cans, 650 ml bottles and draught.

SunSetter Summer Ale

Stanley Park Brewing

This one is summertime only—a refreshing American-style wheat ale with a hint of peach and a touch of citrus. It’s not too sweet or too fruity—and it’s the perfect refreshment for a post-hike patio session. Available in 341 ml bottles and draught.
