Brendan Sainsbury

Brendan is a British writer based in BC, Canada focusing primarily on travel, history, art, and outdoor adventure. He has written 60 guidebooks for Lonely Planet including the current guides to Cuba, Peru, Alaska, and Canada; plus, articles for the BBC, Conde Nast, Globe & Mail, Backpacker, Canadian Running, and, of course, Explore. An avid non-driver and traveller, he has hitchhiked across Africa, cycled across Mexico, and run across the Sahara Desert. He loves – in no particular order - coffee, George Orwell, The Beatles, his wife, Havana, playing guitar and experiencing the pain, and occasional pleasure, of supporting Southampton Football Club.
