When not behind my desk in Toronto – scribbling articles about hiking, the outdoors, cool neighbourhoods, good food, and light adventure – I'm usually stomping along a hike trail or splashing about in a kayak or trying not to overpack for the next camping trip. I've also been known to kerplunk himself down on a tree stump and read a good murder mystery. I'm a Certified Hike Leader with Hike Ontario and a volunteer with the Bruce Trail Hiking Club. I like to rub shoulders with other outdoorsy folks, foodies and writerly types. I'm also a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America. In my next life, I want to be reborn as the love child of Bill ("A Walk in the Woods") Bryson and Cheryl ("Wild") Strayed.
