Sarah Steger is a former Australian Court and crime reporter-turned freelance travel writer based in Canmore, Alberta, where the Canadian Rockies double as her office and playground. After hanging up the pen after eight years and setting off on a 13-month solo backpacking trip across 48 countries in 2024-25, Sarah now tells grounded, high-energy stories about wild places and the people who love them (think backcountry camping, larch seasons, wild ice, long trail runs and big climbs (yes, including Kilimanjaro).
