Steve Lyons

Steve is an award-winning journalist who spent 33 years working at the Winnipeg Free Press — a daily newspaper in Canada. In December of 2021, he retired from his position as Sports Editor at the Free Press — and since embarking on his freelance journey has contributed content to a variety of publications with his primary focus being active travel (hiking and biking), cultural tourism and Indigenous and community tourism experiences.

Nothing has helped Steve see the world in a better way than actually getting out and seeing the world. Exploring different cultures and traditions while learning about the heritage and history of a destination through its people and landscape has been quite enriching and Steve appreciates being able to share some of those experiences with readers.
