French River bound: trip prep
Does anyone else feel like summer is just flying by? It seems like just yesterday I was packing up my winter gear, and now it’s August? Really?
This week has been chaotic, to say the least. All of the work that’s gone into preparing for the trip I’m coordinating and guiding this weekend with Connected in Motion has finally culminated and left me with food barrels packed, tents set up, checked, and torn down, gear lists finalized and emails going out to the 22 adults who will be heading out on the waters on Friday morning.
My only regret, at this point, was that I took a photo of my living room as I finished putting up one of my old tents that hadn’t seen the light of day since 2010. And yes, you read the right. Because of the torrential downpours we were getting today, North of Toronto, I was forced to clear out the living room and set up my tents inside. Is that bad luck, like opening an umbrella inside? I certainly hope not!
Anyway, I’m sure that this weekend will hold many adventures. I’m excited for all that I’ll have to share and blog about next week. For everyone else who will be heading out on the waters this weekend, safe travels and may your adventures be many!
