Happy Camper college course – what a blast!
My college course – How to be a Happy Camper – was held this past weekend at Sir Sandford Fleming in Peterborough, and it was a blast. We had a full house and the students and I spent all day Saturday going over camping related topics, such as lighting a one match fire, tarp set up, gear selection, map and compass, trip planning, recipes plans…the only problem was we ran out of time. Looks like the next course will have to be at least a couple of days long. The students participating were also from all over Ontario; so it also might be a better idea to take the course on the road rather then have everyone drive to Peterborough. My favorite moments were listening to everyone sharing their enthusiasm of camping out. The canoeists won over the kayakers this time but we also had a good handful of backpackers. I can’t wait until the next course.
