This mobile workshop at the Hike Haliburton Festival will cover tips and tricks on skills needed for a multi-night backpacking trip. Kevin Callan will participants show how to make a good meal on the trail, necessary gear needed to pack along, how to stay warm and dry, navigation, keeping your pack light, dealing with emergencies, and other tips and tricks on making your next backpacking trip a good one. Take Highway 35 to Minden, turn on Water Street to the Bobcaygeon Road, turn right on Bobcaygeon Road over the bridge and continue to the first street on your left, Deep Bay Road (County Rd 2). Travel along Deep Bay Road for approximately 12 km to Devil’s Lake Road. Turn right on Devil’s Lake Road and travel .5 to parking lot at the trailhead. The civic number is 1115.
