One of the world’s more unusual welcome signs looms on a rockface outside of the airport in Bergen, Norway. Looking like a Scandinavian version of the Hollywood Sign, it simply reads: “Bergen?” Yes, with a question mark.  I didn’t pick up much from the flight announcements en route and, having never been to this country before, I was left wondering… Are we actually in Bergen, the gateway to Western Norway and the start of fjord country? Even the mountain doesn’t seem to know.
