Joffre Lakes Trail Map
The Joffre Lakes hiking trail offers incredible views for moderate effort. After rising to fame on Instagram, the turquoise water in these stunning lakes have become recognizable to hikers everywhere.
There are three lakes along the trail. The first one, Lower Joffree Lake, is only a few hundred metres into the hike. Middle Joffre Lakes takes more effort to reach and is the perfect spot to sit and have a snack. Here you’ll find the floating log many brave hikers walk out onto for surreal photos. You can also swim here. Just a bit further down the trail, you’ll find a beautiful waterfall.
At the end of the hike, you’ll reach the final lake: Upper Joffre Lake. Behind it is the Matier Glacier. There is a urine diversion toilet, bear lockers and designated area for tents.
Leave ample time for taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. Or, prepare in advance to spend the night. Trust us, you’ll want to.
HOW TO GET TO JOFFRE LAKES
Joffre Lakes is located north of Pemberton, within Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. The trailhead is approximately 60 km from Whistler.
FROM WHISTLER
From Whistler, turn north onto Highway 99. Continue past Pemberton and onto Duffley lake Road. Watch for signs for Joffre Lakes. There is a parking lot on the righthand side.

CAMPING AT JOFFRE LAKES
There are 26 wilderness campsites at Joffre Lakes. Backcountry campers must pay a fee of $5 each. There are no reservations, but campers can purchase permits online in advance through Parks Canada.
DOGS AT JOFFRE LAKES
As of May 2018, dogs are no longer permitted at Joffre Lakes.
TOILETS AT JOFFRE LAKES
There are pit toilets located at the start of the trail and throughout.
