MEC Snowfest 2015
It’s that time of year again!
MEC Snowfest will once again be home to the legendary MEC Snow Swap. The event will be buzzing with excitement and is the place to be to find great deals on snowsports related gear.
Snow Swap
What kind of gear can you expect to find? The full gambit of snowsports gear (skis, boards, boots, bindings, poles, etc), as well as winter-relevant packs, tents, sleeping bags, optics items, and clothing.
Most items are gently used, but some may be in need of repair (at your own cost). All items will be clearly marked. Gear comes from warrantied/returned items at MEC, as well as retired rental items. We recommend coming early! Gear selection is dependent on what is available at the time – there is no guarantee of specific items being available.
Those looking to swap their own gear should contact the stores to rent tables (sorry no consignment).
MEC Vancouver
Location: MEC Vancouver: 130 West Broadway Vancouver
Date: Saturday, November 21st
Time: Snow Swap hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Activities being hosted: Get in on tons of great deals at the Snow Swap, partake in informative clinics and win some sweet prize giveaways. MEC Vancouver will be showcasing the best minds in the industry and helping you connect with your local snowsports community.
Note: Due to a lack of resources and space, consignment will not be available at the Snow Swap this year – but members are welcome to rent a table to sell their own gear. $10 to rent a full table and $5 for a half.

Time: Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m.
About: Charity and an amazingly fun night of snowsports movies, prizes, and popcorn. Get there early to register for contests, grab some food and drink, and check out the vendors.
What’s on: This year they’ll be screening some amazing movies including MEC’s very own Ambassador Reuben Krabbe’s award winning movie Eclipse. Ther’s also Whistler Creek Production’s Balance, Permberton’s Kye Peterson’s In Search, and Burton presents shorts to get you warmed up for a big backcountry season.

MEC North Vancouver
Location: MEC North Vancouver: 212 Brooksbank Ave., North Vancouver
Date: Saturday, November 28
Time: The Snow Swap will take place from 10am to 3pm on November 15th. Pick up your PASSPORT at the welcome tent and enter for prizes; they’re drawn at 1 p.m. Event wraps by 5 p.m.
Activities being hosted: Some sweet prize giveaways, informative clinics, a kids zone (make a Snowfest Snowglobe!), a scavenger hunt, food trucks, trivia, presentations & seminars – including a sreening of Jumbo Wild.
How do I pay for gear at the snow swap? Visa, M/C, Debit, cash accepted.
