Mountain bike with legends

Want to learn how to ride some of the steepest lines, get the biggest air or handle some of the hardest trails? Check out this mountain bike camp

Like Whistler Blackcomb’s renowned Camp of Champions—where visitors can attend a massive, private snowboard park on Whistler’s glacier for some one-on-one coaching from the finest in the industry—possibly one of the best ways for an intermediate rider to advance their mountain biking skills is through the Richie Schley bike camps. Whether you want to ride some of the steepest lines, get big air or handle some of the hardest trails, who better to teach you than the pioneers of freeriding?

Held at the Whistler Mountain Bike Park, you can take part in mountain bike hall-of-fame-er Richie Schley’s Mountain Bike Adventures at four different times this season. One will be held on the weekend of July 21st and 22nd, another on August 4th and 5th, a third starting on a Tuesday, August 13th, and a fourth on the second weekend in September. Prices vary depending on whether or not you need to rent equipment.

So what will you get for your money? Two full days of coaching from Richie Schley and other mountain bike legends, including Wade Simmons and Matt Hunter, an exclusive “out of bounds” ride off Whistler’s Peak Chair, some great apres, prizing courtesy of Schley’s sponsors, and of course, access to some of the best mountain biking terrain in the world. The best part? You can improve on or acquire whatever mountain biking skills you’re looking for, which the camp boasts take “quantum leaps of improvement” in only two days thanks to the “professional teaching techniques of the world’s best riders.”
