Ready for winter? Fun activities start this weekend in Nelson & Kootenay Lakes!

Don’t run away from winter—run towards epic events that celebrate Canada’s snowy season.

In the Kootenays, explorers welcome winter with the third annual Winter Kickoff Carnival & Events. Several communities, from Kaslo to Nelson, will feature holiday activities from November 21st to December 7th.

Families shouldn’t miss the one-night Magical Carnival in Nelson’s Railtown. Little explorers can meet Santa in person. Roaming performers, musicians, local bites and craft beer will entertain the adults.

Other winter-themed activities include the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, a ski season launch and backcountry ski/snowboard films that will get you stoked for cold-weather adventures. Look for events in Nelson, Kaslo, Ainsworth Hot Springs and Balfour.
