Paddling and canoe tripping demo at Ontario’s Summer Fun at Dundas Square
This Friday – June 3rd. – I’ll be doing paddle demos and presenting on how to pack for a canoe trip at the Ontario Summer Fun at Dundas Square Event. It’s put on by the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC) and is a reminder to Ontarians that there really is no place like Ontario for summer fun!

As a kick-off to Tourism Week (June 6-12), Dundas Square will be abuzz with live activity showcasing some of the fantastic things to do in Ontario this summer season.
Find out about resorts, parks for camping, boating and outdoor adventures, attractions, culinary destinations, historic sites and more. Visit the Ontario Tourism video booth and share your favourite Ontario travel story. Get paddling and outdoor tips from the experts and watch live demonstrations in the kayak pool. Plus lots of giveaways and prizes to be won.
Entertainment on the main stage includes live performances from Ontario festivals and events. From noon to 1:00pm, rock to the music of Elvis and Beatles courtesy of the Collingwood Elvis Festival and the Orillia Beatles Celebration, and sample Greek flavours and sounds courtesy of the Taste of the Danforth. From 5:30pm to 7:30pm, groove to the rhythms of Scotiabank Toronto Caribbean Carnival, Salsa on St. Clair, the Toronto Jazz Festival, Mirvish Productions and tribute artist Shania Twin courtesy of Ontario’s North.
Who will be there: Michael Chan, Minister of Tourism and Culture will kick off the day at 11:45 am. Kevin Callan, The Happy Camper, will be available for interviews from 11am to 5pm. Adam van Koeverden, Canadian Olympic Kayak Champion, will be available for interviews from 1 to 2pm. Representatives from OTMPC and participating tourism partners will be available throughout the day for interviews.
