Getting spontaneous photos means having a camera at the ready. Honestly, we were skeptical about this little clip being the solution until we started to use it. One half attaches to your camera’s tripod mount — the other to a shoulder strap or belt. They lock together easily, holding a camera vertically and securely. (We found it works best with a DSLR.) When it’s time to take a pic, an intuitive pull releases the camera, ready to shoot — no futzing with a bag or strap required.

This is a shockingly small interchangeable lens camera; one of the tiniest available, weighing only 180 grams, it looks like someone shot it with a shrink-ray. Inside, however, are the guts of DSLR: 12.3 MP, 1080p HD movie, pop-up flash and hot-shoe, five frames per second continuous shooting, RAW image capability and ISO from 100 to 6,400. Translation: almost equal capabilities and creative control of a DSLR in a body and lens combo that fits in a pocket. Being a micro 2/3 camera, there’s no viewfinder, but the three-inch LCD makes for a good stand-in.
