Speaking in Kitchener/Waterloo and North Bay this week
It’s a busy week. Last night I spoke at the Water Conference at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Lindsay on the importance of river paddling and the update on the Navigable Waters Protection Act. It was a blast. Now I have two major talks to go this week – one in the south and one in the north. And both are for excellent causes.
This Thursday evening I will be presenting on Wilderness Pleasures at the Princess Theatre in Kitchener/Waterloo for Adventure Guide store. It starts at 7:00 pm. All donations go towards KidsAbility Center for Child Development – an organization that helps over 3,000 children a year with physical, developmental and communication disabilities.
Then I’m off to North Bay Friday night for the same topic. The event is held at the Nippissing University Theatre at 7:00 pm. Money raised goes towards the protection of the La Vase Portage. This 14 kilometer section of the historic Voyageur canoe route crosses the height of land between the Mattawa and French Rivers and the goal of the goal of the organization is to have its historic and heritage importance recognized and protected for future generations. Over the last three years they have been brushing and signing the sections of the trail that still run over Crown Lands or North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority property as well as hosting a public La Vase Heritage Canoe Day to travel the route as a group.
Hope to see there.
