As an outdoor enthusiast since my early teen years (back country skiing, alpinism, river canoeing, backpacking, trail running, single track trail building, ….), I have relied on Explore for planning outdoor trips both within Canada and beyond. I am now 85, enjoying a good level of fitness, and love to enjoy the Great Outdoors with my equally fit wife.

Explore has shown me places and trips I was unaware of in Canada. The pictures and stories have given my wife and I the impetus to get out there and enjoy the wild. We have taken canoe trips to Murtle Lake in Wells Grey Provincial Park and the Sayward Canoe route on Vancouver Island.
Nice to see how many places there are out there to see.
Explore is “real” for us as it provides information and stories that are possible and about adventure ideas that are often in our country and area. The gear recommendations are awesome and obtainable by us, sometimes even locally!
We made a trip to the little known Huaywash area in Peru based on one of your articles. I love learning about lesser known areas.
Explore hasn’t inspired me per se- it has been much more important than that. I have been an outdoorsperson my entire life, and Explore serves more as a reminder for me that I need to make various adventures such as camping, hiking and paddling a greater priority in my life, despite the demands of work and home.
The “can do” attitude that let’s us know we can experience the great outdoors.

I absolutely love the articles, the writers entice me to open my mind to potential & possibility, they take me beyond the ‘everyday’; allowing me to daydream of being outside when I’m stuck inside at a desk behind computers & phones. When I break free, I get to “explore” near and far the places you’ve showcased.
I have always felt connected to nature. Explore magazine reminds me that I can get out there, and there’s plenty to explore. I do need to be outside and I want to be.

Looking at the adventures and experiences in Explore has led me to go to places I would never have imagined. Whether it was a recent three week adventure around the whole of Iceland or a long weekend to Haida Gwaii.

I’ve found so many beautiful spots to visit across Canada by reading Explore magazine over the years. I often make a point of planning a vacation around some of the adventures I’ve read about!
Explore make me dream and live through other outdoor enthusiast. As much as I love to be out and about, it’s not always accessible to me and Explore makes it a reality.
Explore is THE magazine for the Canadian (or any other nationality) outdoors person. The width, depth and breadth of the outdoor experiences are covered regardless of where or when. If the Outdoors is in your blood the magazine should be in your mailbox.
The box subscription is fantastic, I use all of the items and love the surprises :). Magazine is interesting and full of great articles and helpful tips.
