The Happy Camper: Show Us Your Pack Contest

Earlier in the year I had Recreational Barrel Works produce The Happy Camper canoe pack. It was a huge success story. The company released a limited edition of 50 canoe packs, and they sold out in just over a day. Profits went to Camp Outlook, a Kingston, Ontario-based camp that takes youth out on canoe trips who otherwise wouldn’t have the ability to go out on their own.

The popularity of the project wasn’t a surprise. It was a great cause. And having a pack as the gear choice was perfect. It’s an essential piece of gear for any outdoor adventure. A pack holds all your precious belongings to help you be a “Happy Camper” out there.

So why not show it off.

I’m partnering with Explore Magazine to launch a cool contest: #ShowUsYourPack

Show off your personal pack, whether it’s one of the limited The Happy Camper canoe packs or just an old canvas tractional style with a leather tump. Heck, even a day pack or internal framed backpacking pack. Whatever helps you tote all your belongings, from camp chairs to dirty socks.

The contest will be hosted on Explore Magazine’s Instagram. They will be giving away one $250 Explore Gift Card for the Grand Prize, plus five one-year Explore Magazine subscriptions for runners-up.

The contest runs for two weeks, starting today and closing September 25th.

So, search through your photo gallery and pick out a unique photo of your pack doing all the dirty work out there, post it on Instagram and tag @exploremagazine. Lucky winners will be chosen randomly—find all the details on Explore’s Instagram account.
