The Happy Camper: A Paddling Musical Mystery Tour
Fantastic news! Canadian filmmaker, Frank Wolf, is out documenting another elaborate wilderness expedition again. This time he’s teamed up with singer/songwriter Peirson Ross.
On June 3, Wolf and Peirson began a 900-km canoe journey/band tour from Georgian Bay, Ontario, to Montreal. It’s a celebration of of Peirson’s latest album, Wild Ones, and pays homage to the very essence of Canada—wilderness. It’s the musician’s desire to marry “art, music and nature in an album dedicated to wildlife and to those living the wild life.”
Who better to have tag along as a canoe partner than Frank Wolf? His unique film stye, passion to protect wild areas (and odd sense of humour) is well-known in the paddling and environmental community. He’s canoed across Canada in one season, cycled 2,000 km in winter on the Yukon River from Dawson City to Nome, Alaska, and built up an amazing list of award-winning documentaries: The Hand of Franklin, Kitturiaq, On the Line, Mammalian and Borealis. Explore labelled him one of Canada’s Top 10 Adventurers in 2012 and listed as one of the top one hundred explorers by Canadian Geographic Magazine.
