Tweeting, posting, blogging and sharing my way through Ottawa and Ottawa Valley
Wow. What an amazing week. I’ve just completed my job hosting the Classic Canadian Adventure contest for Ontario Tourism and it was a blast. I was admittedly apprehensive about being the “host” for four complete strangers for seven days. After all, what if they were – well – weird? I’m happy to report they were not. In fact, the group was fantastic to be around and I consider them new-found friends. Melissa (the actual winner) and her three friends she was told to bring along (her boyfriend, Dean, her sister, Melinda, and her boyfriend Todd) was an amazing group to spend time with. And boy, what an adventure we had. The schedule was jammed-pack, from whitewater rafting down the Ottawa River with River Run to being flown through Algonquin’s Barron Canyon.
The best part of it all is I was able to share the adventure along the way by social media. Friend and co-worker at BirchBark Media (and the brains behind my Happy Camper web site), Scott Adams, set up ww.ontarioadventure.com to display our every move each and every day. We Twittered, Facebooked and blogged our way across Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley. Check out our daily blog, video and photo entries here; ontarioadventure.com.
