Pick up a paintbrush and let the rugged hills east of Algonquin Park inspire you. From its start as a frontier homesteading town, Wilno has become a magnet for outdoor-lovers seeking a preserved pocket of Ontario. It’s here that artist Joyce Burkholder welcomes aspiring artists of all levels to capture the region’s beauty through her Adventure Painting Workshops. The October 13/14 workshop takes place on the shores of the Madawaska River, where the rapids’ rhythms will find expression in strokes of oil and acrylic paint. Madawaska Kanu Centre serves as a convenient riverside retreat for artists needing a weekend residence, or stay in town and sample Wilno Tavern’s famous food and nightlife.
