Get Outside This Summer: August 2020 Nature Challenge

If you haven’t noticed, it’s almost August. Take advantage of the dwindling summer sunshine by getting out to live the adventure—every day for the next 30 days.

The concept is simple. Ontario Parks developed a plan to get more people outside and utilizing the health benefits afforded by nature (think: hiking in the shade of tall trees, listening to birds and the gurgles of streams,  breathing in fresh, crisp, clean air).

The challenge: Spend 30 minutes in nature every day for 30 days to complete the 30×30 Nature Challenge.

Organizers encourage Canadians to get outside (safely) and connect with nature for the month of August. The challenge officially begins August 1st, but participants are welcome to join at any time.

It doesn’t matter if you live in Ontario, or even Canada—“nature” counts as any green space you can relax away from the sounds, sights and smells of the city.

Grab your family, friends or dog (or tackle this challenge yourself!) and relax in a nearby green space this month.

(Don’t forget: it’ll be snowing soon.)
